What kind of books are available in the library?
Fiction and Nonfiction are available for students to check out of the library. In addition, the library has various reference books (encyclopedias, Catholic encyclopedia, dictionaries, atlases, almanacs, and more) to utilize during recess and lunch. Reference books are not available for check out. Information books are also available for students in the “Student Resource Center.” These books offer guidance in math, algebra, language arts, research projects, science fair, science, history, reading, making speeches, book reports, vocabulary, and much, much more!
What is an OPAC?
An OPAC is an Online Public Access Catalog.
How many books can a student borrow?
Students in 3rd grade may borrow one book at a time. Students in 4th through 8th grades may borrow no more than two books at a time.
How long can a student borrow a book?
The loan period for borrowing books is 10 days. Students are encouraged to renew their books if they are still reading them or if they are being used for a school project.
Is there a fine for overdue books?
A fine of $0.05 per day is assessed for overdue books. Students can renew their books at any time, which will eliminate any late fines.
What is the policy for lost or damaged books?
Any book that has been lost or damaged must be paid for or replaced with an identical copy. All books with severe water damage must be replaced. Due to mold and mildew growth, these books cannot be returned for circulation.
Do You Take Book Donations?
We will accept book donations for the library. If the donation matches an existing book in our library, the book will be offered to teachers for their classroom use.
What is the Six Flags Read to Succeed program?
The Six Flags program is a volunteer where students read for six hours over a three-month period and they can earn a free ticket to a local participating Six Flags theme park. See the link for the Six Flags Read to Succeed program.
Can I volunteer in the library?
